January Mix the Kit Layouts for The ScrapRoom

These are some of my favorite layouts to create each month!  I love to mix the Shots of Life kit with the Patterned Paper Add-On kit to create traditional 12x12 layouts.  The colors and patterns look fabulous together and have the smaller goodies in the Shots of Life kit is like have a bunch of extra embellishments and layers for your kits.  Fabulous!

The ScrapRoom releases a variety of new kits each month.  It is always fun to see how the variety of kits can be combined to provide more supply options!  You can check out their blog for more inspiration from their design team.  If you love challenges come and join the Facebook Group for a new set of challenges that are revealed the first week of each month, also join us for chatter and tons of scrappy inspiration.

I love all of the pink in the cut apart sheet from Pink Paislee that is in the Shots of Life kit especially when I saw the matching papers in the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit. After I picked out my photo and started playing around with the cut apart sheet and the stickers I decided to create a grid style page.  I was able to add pieces of patterned paper to fill in empty spots.  I finished off the page with a few homemade enamel dots.

The colors on these Fancy Pants cards in the Shots of Life kit really spoke to me and I couldn’t wait to use them on a layout.  I paired them up with the Fancy Pants paper in the Add-on Kit to create this page.  I used some of the Project Life cards and cut them into circles for my embellishments before finishing off the page with some decorative staples from We R Memory Keepers and homemade enamel dots.

It's Time to Dance (SOS)

I love the new challenges that come out each year at Scrap Our Stash.  For the second challenge this month it is a sketch + word challenge. I found this sketch super easy to work with and pretty much just stuck with it.  For the word part I used: G- Grey, O – Orange, A – Alpha print, Aqua, L – Little B, Liquid Pearls, S – Spray Ink, Stars. The word challenges have always been one of my favorites because it really challenges me to look at my stash to pull out items that feature those letters.  I can’t wait to see what you create!

I created this page using the Patterned Paper Add-On kit for January from The ScrapRoom. I loved the colors ad prints on these papers and couldn't wait to use them on this page.  I also used a few left over pieces from the DoubleShot Kit as well.  I always love when I am able to mix and match collections and use some small embellishments from my stash to finish off the page.

January Shots of Life Pages

Ahhh...the holidays are behind us, which means we are getting back into the groove and going through the winter blues.  I am already longing for the longer days and the new blooms of spring, but since that is still several months away I will just sit back and play with the fun bright colors in the latest Shots of Life kit from The ScrapRoom!

There is just something about the pocket page cards that makes me happy.  I love looking at them and deciding which ones I want to use.  Also, a lot of the time you can easily cut some up for cute embellishments.  For this two page spread I used the Project Life cards and embellishments that are included in the Shots of Life kit.  I even added some of the embellishments on top of the pockets.  Another 12 photos are ready to go into my albums.

For this pocket page I combined the Fancy Pants cards with a piece of the Project Life die cut shapes to create a fun page super fast. Pocket pages don’t have to be complicated. I took so many pictures on this day and really love most of them, so it would be impossible for me to just create one or two pages, but with some pocket pages thrown into the mix I am now able to document more photos that I love.

The colors and patterns in the Fancy Pants page kit are so pretty!  I wasn’t sure if I would love the floral paper or if it would end up being too busy on my page, but in the end it really works.  Remember that Doubleshot Kit subscribers now get a recipe for each of the page kits. I finished off my page with some cork letters for my title and 3 small white homemade enamel dots.

YAY (Layout for The ScrapRoom)

I was swooning over the page kit from Pink Paislee when I opened the Doubleshot Kit.  The embellishments had me so giddy!  I loved the fun birthday theme and the colors, so I knew photos from this day would be perfect.  I decided to use the FFF challenge to complete this page.  After I got all of my pieces cut I just played around until I liked the placement.  After the photos and papers were down I decided to use the sequins to make a giant heart shape on the page.  I finished up the page with a few more embellishments from the kit and even used some left over patterned paper to make my own journaling strips.

New Scrap Our Stash Challenge

It is the first new challenge for Scrap Our Stash in 2017 and this one is a Tic Tac Toe challenge.

I combined two tic tac toes to create this page.  I used Mist, 5+ patterned papers, Twine, Paper Clip, and The Color Blue. When I go to start this type of challenge I first eliminate any blocks that I know I won’t use, in this case “winter theme” since I knew I didn’t have any printed winter pictures.  I then grabbed my photo and started looking for paper and I ended up using blue, so I decided to do the bottom row.  By the time I added some mist I noticed that I already had 5 patterned papers on my page for the two tic tac toes.  I can’t wait to see how this challenge will inspire you!

The Best of 2016

As we say goodbye to 2016, I can't help but to think of all of the good things that 2016 has brought.  Now believe me, there were plenty of lows as well. I made great progress towards my degree in business management. As for scrappy news, I was a part of Scrap Our Stash for the whole year, I was a part of two terms with Stuck?! Sketches, and I joined the team at The ScrapRoom.  I have been working hard to share more scrapbook layouts on my Instagram account, because it makes me happy to scroll through and see my favorite pages, and really that square format is just calling for scrapbook pages!

So without further ado, here are 10 of my favorite pages from 2016:

I created this first page for Stuck?! Sketches.  I love that I used a picture from my childhood and that I was able to use so many scraps from my stash.

This second layout I created for the birthday celebration team up with Stuck?! Sketches and Just Nick cut files.  I love the large title and how I was able to use three other pictures as well.

I created this page for a book cover challenge with Scrap Our Stash.  I loved the triangles and all the embellishments too.  This was such a fun page to create!

Wood grain, cute die cuts and my cute sleeping puppy...what could be better!

I started with the pie chart cut file and used primary a 6x6 pad.  I love my picture and all the fun embellishments from Crate Paper.

This was a page I created for Scrap Our Stash.  What I didn't know when I created it, is that my husband will be out of the military shortly.  This picture is now even more special to me, especially since I don't have very many photos of him in his dress uniform.

I branched out of my norm here and I used these fun papers and embellishments from Imaginisce.  They were never one of my favorite companies, since I have never really been into the theme and cutest stuff...but I just love some of their recent products and this page has been one of my favorites since I created it.

This is a page I create for The ScrapRoom.  I get to mix their Shots of Life kit (designed for pocket scrappers) and the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit each month.  I love how this page turned out.  I spent forever hand stitching all those circles, but in the end it was totally worth it!

This is another page I created for The ScrapRoom.  I get to mix their Shots of Life kit (designed for pocket scrappers) and the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit each month.  I decided to create a grid style layout and these cards just make me so happy!

This layout is a layout for The ScrapRoom and Stuck?! Sketches.  Shortly after I left the Stuck?! Sketches team The ScrapRoom became a sponsor and we have been invited to team up with their team to create a layout using Laura's sketch and products from The ScrapRoom.  This is my first layout from that team up and it uses Jillibean Soup products.  I loved creating this page and even now I still adore it!

This layout for is for The ScrapRoom.  I get to mix their Shots of Life kit (designed for pocket scrappers) and the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit each month. This page features a Jillibean Soup collection and I love the angled grid design I decided to use.
